He flew 35 missions with 4 battle stars, Normandy, Northern France, Air Offensive Europe, and Germany. He was Navigator on a B-24. He remembers missions to Coblens (9 Oct. 1944), Minden Canals (26 Oct. 1944), and Untersharasbach (8 April 1945). His engine was shot out over Belgium on 25 Dec. 1944 and had to make an emergency landing at Brussels during Battle of the Bulge. He became engaged with ME-262s during his flights.
