Three shots of the 800 Rose Street Harrell home during the blizzard in the 1940s.  Rover stands watch in the middle of the street before the snow plow arrives.  The concrete bench remains in the family under the guardianship of Dad's brother, William "Bill" Albright Harrell  living in Hendersonville, Tennessee in 2002.    The vacant lots to the right of the house was finally developed in the mid 1990s with a small house.

While Dad occupied the home, the lot no doubt provided ample room for children's play.  As a small boy, Dad related, that he had been in the cemetery, located a short block away behind the house, playing with a large spoon, digging as little boys will do.  Later that night, Grandmother Inez Albright Harrell asked her son where was her serving spoon?  He replied that he had left it in the cemetery.  She told her little boy to race back to the cemetery and get it.  It was dark by that time, and Dad told that it was the fastest block he ever ran, being spooked all the way.  He returned with the spoon though.
