Dad relates, "After lunch, we began to curve around to the north, passing thru Sanford.  Just leaving Sanford, the car engine suddenly started boiling, and had gone dry before we saw it.  We had to put water into the radiator from mud puddles till we came to a small stream, where Jr. filled radiator, as in the center picture. The we proceeded to Chapel Hill where just before sunset (4:30 p.m.) we cam to the U.N.C. Carrillion."  Seems the old Ford could take punishment.
