SAACC, San Antonio, Texas

During the period I spent at San Antonio, as permanent personnel at SAACC, I was allowed about same conditions as a normal worker;  job hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one hours calisthenics several times a week.  After that, I was free to go and do about as I pleased until midnight, or after.  While in San Antonio, I became connected with the SA Catholic USO as movie-projectionist every Saturday and Sunday night.

San Antonio, Texas, is site of the Alamo, famous in history of U.S. and Texas for the last stand battle fought here.  Right is front view of the remains of the Alamo, the chapel, which is carefully preserved.  (War time photo by A.F. Harrell)
