Wounded during a patrol on Jan. 16, 1945 in the Ardennes. Entire 45 man patrol killed or captured. He was sent to German hospital wounded in left arm and buttocks. Finally sent by train to Stalag IVB near Dresden for 120 days. Camp liberated by Russian Cavalry in early May 1945. Also involved in the CCC work in the 1930s at Westmoreland Park & Prince William Park Va.
