Mr. Myers was a gunner on 3 inch anti-tank guns and later on a self-propelled 90 mm tank destroyer. He was awarded the Bronze Star at Fishbaach, Germany for knocking out a pillbox with his tank. He was accidentally injured in left hand by a captured German pistol on 20 March 1945. He spent the remainder of war in an English hospital.
