Mr. Speelman worked in war industries including Fairchild Industries as a riviter on PBYs, National Jet Company, and Cumberland Steel Company. Orignially assigned to lay telephone wire in HQ Co. of the 273rd F.A. Bn. He landed in France and was soon tranferred as replacement to the 26th Inf. Div. He was detailed to Task Force Hamilton during some of the Ardennes battle before again joining 26th. Wounded on Jan. 3, 1945 in Ardennes.
