Operated Radio on island invasion of Iwo Jima 1945. Later re-enlisted as officer June 1950 for flight training and flew with VMF-223 (Corsairs) and VMF-311 (Panther Jets 80 missions) in Korea. Later assigned to DaNang, Vietnam on airbase as Marine Major. Retired Colonel.
